From kindergarten to elementary school, it marks an important transition from childhood to adolescence. To help our senior kindergarten children get a glimpse of the charm of elementary school and alleviate their anxiety about the 'new environment,' we collaborated with Mingde Elementary School to organize an 'Immersive Elementary School Experience Day' event! The children, brimming with curiosity and anticipation, stepped into Mingde Elementary School with bright eyes, embarking on a journey of growth and exploration.
'What does an elementary school look like? ' In the senior kindergarten classroom, the children sat in a circle, their little hands propped up on their chins, their eyes sparkling as they discussed the upcoming elementary school visit. 'The desks in elementary school are for one person each, unlike in kindergarten!' 'The older kids have so many exercise books; I want to see how they write!' After the discussion, the children even carefully prepared gifts for the older students.
Wow, the elementary school is so big! Led by the teachers of Mingde Elementary School, the children explored various corners of the school, visiting the library, art room, multifunctional hall, music room, playground, Dolphin Bank, and art gallery. They used their keen eyes to spot the differences between kindergarten and elementary school while also experiencing the vibrant life of elementary school students, nurturing their longing for elementary school.
To provide the children with a more profound elementary school classroom experience, they entered a first-grade classroom and transformed into little reporters, engaging in face-to-face interactions with the older students. They posed numerous questions about elementary school, and the older students patiently answered each one, sharing their experiences of life and learning in elementary school.
'Is elementary school very busy? Are there many homework assignments?' 'What extracurricular activities are there in elementary school? How do you spend your days?' 'I want to ask, since elementary school is so big, how do you find your classroom without getting lost?'
The older students eagerly raised their hands to answer, dispelling the doubts of the senior kindergarten children. The older students who received gifts were overjoyed! The interesting classes and enthusiastic teachers made the children even more eager to attend elementary school! Through this firsthand experience of elementary school, the children left behind their brightest smiles on campus.
This elementary school visit event served as a vivid lesson for the children's transition from kindergarten to elementary school, enhancing their in-depth understanding of elementary school life. The transition from kindergarten to elementary school is not a daunting leap but a natural extension and transition of childhood life. We believe that in the hopeful month of September, our children will confidently stride into elementary school, becoming happy and confident students, embarking on a new journey in life!
