Age-appropriate Design for Comprehensive Development
For children of different age groups, the teaching department carefully designed diversified activities to ensure that every child could grow in activities suitable for them:
In the creation of light and shadow sand painting, PNA children caressed the delicate grains of sand with their fingers and felt the intertwining of sand and light to create a one-of-a-kind sand painting. The creation of the Autumn Leaves Night Light increased children's knowledge of autumn and beauty. The little animals on the light and shadow board changed their shadows of different sizes, allowing children to witness the magic of light and shadow, and stimulating children's initial understanding of shadow imaging.
K1 children created various magical light and shadow spaces with materials like mirrors and cardboard under natural sunlight, building outdoor light and shadow houses. The creation of mirror paintings taught the children to observe the world from different angles, with each reflection of the mirror deepening their self-awareness.
K2 children made creative lantern-wheels, allowing them to assemble them personally and feel the wonder of light and shadow changing as they spun. The creation of light and shadow bulbs sparked their interest in circuit lighting. The construction of light and shadow castles taught the children teamwork and spatial imagination. The depiction of light and shadow nature paintings perfectly fused the beauty of nature with light and shadow art.
K3 children turned into dance experts, dancing to their heart's content at the glow party. The joyful atmosphere let the children find their own light in the darkness, experiencing the infinite possibilities of light and shadow. Collaboration in light and shadow setups taught the children how to use lighting and setups together to create beauty. DIY light and shadow lamps allowed the children to personally create their own light and shadow works, feeling the joy of creation.
In this series of activities, the children not only gained knowledge and skills but, more importantly, learned to listen, share, and cooperate in collective activities. Every successful attempt and every team effort made the children deeply feel the warmth and strength of collective life.
